Kevin Nolan
A post about my beloved West Ham United has been long overdue, so here it is.
Today it became clear that Kevin Nolan is extremely close to signing for us, representing a real coup for a club recently relegated to the Championship.
Nolan is a completely outrageous signing for a club in our position, and it only adds fuel to the rumours that Big Fat Sam (newly appointed West Ham manager) has more pulling power than Brad Pitt in a tuxedo, smothered in Old Spice and holding armfuls of luxury chocolates.
Yesterday also marked the signing of Abdoulaye Faye who, if you excuse the expletive, is a hard, uncompromising bastard. If looks could kill...
I can't help but feel optimistic about the future of this great club under the leadership of Sam Allardyce; former players seem desperate to play under him again, which can only be a sign of astounding man management skills, and he is well respected within the game for his tactical astuteness and knowledge of the game.
The aforementioned signings seem even more shrude when you consider the magitute of the task Allardyce has ahead of him; he needs to completely change the lilly-livered, lazy culture amongst the playing squad, and both Nolan and Faye will lead by example, pioneering the change in attitude that Fat Sam will inevitably instill within the squad.
Too long have West Ham fans had to put up with: mis-management; tactical naivety; an un-motivated and cowardly playing squad; a team that gives infinitely less than 100%.
Big Sam will undoubtably rectify these problems, and I cannot see a side under his leadership ever being allowed to give less than 100%; I, for one, am looking forward to seeing a West Ham side with a backbone again.
